Description
There is still an ongoing debate whether nolvadex is a medicine or a steroid. Well maybe at first it was just a medicine as that is the reason why it was developed but as the time goes its purpose is more and more to be used during post cycle therapy (PCT). It is classified as an antiestrogenic medication and since its development it has been used as a hormone therapy. This is one of the rare drugs that FDA actually recommends. They recommended it to men and women who have been diagnosed with cancer. It is useful because it reduces the radiation levels of chemo.
The reason why bodybuilders like to use it is because when stacked with other anabolics, the production of testosterone is increased. Bodybuilders tend to experience estrogenic side effects such as gynecomastia (increase in breast tissue), water retention (bloated appearance) and fat storage, all because of increased levels of estrogen. Luckily, nolvadex blocks estrogen and those side effects are prevented.
The drug comes in the form of tablet- 20mg white tablet. Recommended dosage is 20mg per day while bodybuilders tend to take 40mg which is the maximum and anything more then that can cause some side effects. Remember 1 pill a day or 2 if you are an advance bodybuilder. Don’t take it with alcohol or energy drink but rather with water.
Side effects are the result of irresponsible usage (wrong dosage and overextended cycle) and some of them you may experience are: hot flushes, blood clots, vomiting, menstrual bleeding and vaginal discharge.
Anabolic steroids are taken in the form of cycles. The reason to that is their dependency. Your body will create dependency on them and won’t be able to produce hormones on its own. To be precise the most important hormone called testosterone. You want to avoid that because your body won’t be able to keep up with gains from the cycle. You will lose everything you gained in matter of weeks. This is where Nolvadex comes in handy. It helps you lose steroid dependency.
The total length of PCT depends on the length of the previous steroid cycle and the type of steroids you have using. More often than not, 3 weeks is enough.
